As I recommend the different FIT Tests so often to my clients, I thought it might be interesting to share why I recommend different tests after many years of experience working with these amazing Food Inflammation Tests from KBMO Diagnostics.
Which FIT Test Is Right for Me?
FIT 176 TEST
The biggest
FIT 176 Test tests for 176 foods, herbs, and additives, is my favorite. It includes the Gut Barrier Panel, 1 hour of my time to discuss the results and answer all questions and concerns, a 7-day meal plan created by myself, and an invitation for the App. The App shows your test results, possible cross reactions, for additives different terms, and your personalized meal plan. The price for this complete package is $ 629. Between the number of foods we consume regularly, to make good supplement choices with many different ingredients, to test for the most possible amounts has been very beneficial for my clients.

FIT 132 TEST
The
FIT 132 Test with 44 less ingredients seems to help clients who do not eat a very diverse diet. Included in the price of $ 529 is a 45-minute test review, a 7-day meal plan created by myself, the invitation to the App, and the Gut Barrier Panel.

FIT 22 TEST
The smallest test, the
FIT 22, is $ 200, and includes a 30- minute test review. It tests for the 22 most reactive foods we see in the lab and helps my clients to set ground rules for these large topics, like wheat/gluten, egg whites and yolks, and Cow’s milk/ Casein. This test, apart from the affordability, seems not so overwhelming for some of my clients. To implement many changes can be too much, for different age groups or medical conditions. It is also a great test for relatives who would like to participate in the dietary changes another family member is undergoing and confirm the reasoning for more boundaries.

GUT BARRIER PANEL
The
Gut Barrier Panel is available as a stand- alone test for $ 199 for clients who are just looking for the Candida and Leaky Gut markers, or prefer to re-test a few months after changing their diet. It is a good idea to re-test after you have been working on addressing your gut health by removing the foods you are sensitive to, adding some supplements, or drinking bone broth regularly. Between the 4 or 8 different markers, and my expertise analyzing the test results, the Gut Barrier Panel is a great additional marker for “what is going on in the small intestine”, to find another possible reason for inflammation.

Gut Barrier Panel
as described by KBMO Diagnostics
KBMO has created a unique Gut Barrier Panel which in recognition that leaky gut occurs across a spectrum; KBMO Diagnostics has included the following gatekeeper markers: Candida, Zonulin, Occludin, and Lipopolysaccharides (LPS).
Candida
We measure and use any candida overgrowth in the stomach/dysbiosis as a precursor to leaky gut occurrence.
Zonulin
Zonulin is a marker of intestinal permeability, otherwise known as leaky gut. If a patient has elevated zonulin levels, the normal regulation of the tight junctions is compromised. This zonulin marker is unique to KBMO.
Occludin
Occludin is a marker of tight junction stabilization and optimal barrier function. Elevated occludin indicates that the tight junctions are breaking down.
Lipopolysaccharides (LPS)
LPS is a major structural component of the outer membrane of gram-negative bacteria. Elevated levels of antibody against LPS may be indicative of Leaky Gut Syndrome and other gastrointestinal inflammatory diseases.
This panel is included with the FIT 132 Test and FIT 176 Test.

Remember that the results can change over time. The reason why we react in the FIT Tests as we do is either, we are sensitive to an item for life, or we have overconsumed it. Most people are habitual eaters, and they repeat their staples regularly.
If you have questions on how to choose the right Food Inflammation Tests for yourself or your family, when to re-test, and the personal value of any of these tests in your current situation, please reach out. I am looking forward to helping you make the right choice.
