December 2022 Newsletter
From my heart, I wish you Happy Holidays, with time to create memories, time with family and friends, time to reflect, and of course, time for relaxation and self-care during this beautiful season!

My biggest goal and gift to myself this year is self-care. This was a busy and intense year, with overwhelming news, lots of studying, traveling, caring for others, and healing. It was also a year with gorgeous weather, time spent outdoors, fun time with family and friends, and finally, a feeling of "back to normal."

While we can get overwhelmed with the demands of our daily lives, it is so important to think about personal improvements and our own health.
Merry Christmas from Simplify

I love the new Gut Barrier Panel included with the FIT 132 Test and the FIT 176 Test. It tells us where we stand, if the mucosal lining of the small intestine is healthy, or if it is porous (Leaky Gut) and needs healing. The small intestine is where all the food we ingest gets assimilated into the bloodstream. Even if we eat the healthiest food sources, organic fruits and vegetables, wild fish and shellfish, nuts and seeds, organic chicken and turkey, and occasionally grass-fed organic beef, and top it off with organic herbs and spices if our gut does not absorb the nutrients properly, it leaves us fatigued, moody, and un-well.

What is the difference of the FIT Tests from KBMO Diagnostics compared to other Food Sensitivity Tests?
KBMO is focused on Food Sensitivity Testing with their patented FIT (Food Inflammation Test) Test, which now includes the Gut Barrier Panel. The FIT Test employs unique methods that detect both lgG antibody and Immune Complexes together to determine the reactivity of each sample against a wide variety of food antigens. Measuring IgG and Immune Complexes together increases the sensitivity over other tests which measure IgG alone. (source: KBMO Diagnostics)

Gut Barrier Panel
as described by KBMO Diagnostics
KBMO has created a unique Gut Barrier Panel in recognition that leaky gut occurs across a spectrum; we have included the following gatekeeper markers: Candida, Zonulin, and Occludin.

Candida
We measure and use any candida overgrowth in the stomach/dysbiosis as a precursor to leaky gut occurrence.
Zonulin
Zonulin is a marker of intestinal permeability, otherwise known as leaky gut. If a patient has elevated zonulin levels, the normal regulation of the tight junctions is compromised. This zonulin marker is unique to KBMO.
Occludin
Occludin is a marker of tight junction stabilization and optimal barrier function. Elevated occludin indicates that the tight junctions are breaking down.

This panel is included with the FIT 132 Test and FIT 176 Test.

The FIT 22 Test as a great stocking stuffer
The FIT 22 Test for $ 200,
including a 30-minute
test review, is also a
great stocking stuffer!!!

The FIT 22 Test tests for the 22 most reactive foods in the lab and gives you a great starting point to change how you eat. Some of my clients have experienced remarkable improvements by using this test to test for those 21 food sensitivities plus Candida (an overgrowth of yeast in the small intestine).
The food industry is very developed in our time and age; there are replacements for so many foods. For yogurt lovers, there are non-dairy substitutes like Cashew milk yogurt, Almond milk yogurt, or Coconut milk yogurt. Personally, I love Oat butter and a Coconut creamer for the occasional organic Earl Grey Tea I enjoy.
There are pasta substitutes like Chickpea pasta, Quinoa pasta, Lentil pasta, Black bean pasta, and Brown rice pasta, to name a few. For anybody who likes to eat fewer carbs, we can find spiraled Zucchini as noodle substitutes on supermarket shelves or spiral them with little effort at home.
After the results are back, we will sit down and create a plan for areas that need change. There are substitutes for so many foods, so we do not miss out on anything by improving our health.

Please contact me if you have questions about the Gut Barrier Panel included in the FIT 132 Test and the FIT 176 Test, and think about giving a gift of health to yourself or others for Christmas!
